American rapper William Junior Maxwell II, widely known as Fetty Wap, has been sentenced by a federal court in Central Islip, New York, to six years’ imprisonment and five years of post-release supervision.

The sentence comes as a result of his involvement in a conspiracy to distribute cocaine, as stated by the US Attorney’s Office in the Eastern District of New York.

Sentencing for Drug Distribution Conspiracy

Fetty Wap, the renowned rapper, received his sentence from the federal court in Central Islip, New York, on Wednesday.

The court found him guilty of conspiracy to distribute cocaine.

In addition to the six-year imprisonment term, he was also sentenced to five years of post-release supervision.

Involvement in Narcotics Distribution Organization

According to the news release, Fetty Wap was identified as a member of an organization involved in the distribution of a significant amount of illicit substances, including more than 100 kilograms of cocaine, heroin, fentanyl, and crack cocaine.

The organization operated across Long Island and New Jersey.

Legal Representative Declines Comment

Fetty Wap’s legal representative declined to provide any comments on the matter.

The rapper’s attorney refrained from making any statements regarding the sentencing or the allegations against his client.

Arrest, Bail, and Violation

Fetty Wap, along with five others, was indicted and arrested in October 2021 on charges related to drug trafficking conspiracy.

Subsequently, he was released on bail after posting $500,000.

However, in August 2022, he was taken back into custody due to an alleged violation of the terms of his bail.

Prosecutors claimed that he had made threats to harm someone and brandished a firearm during a FaceTime call in December.

Guilty Plea and Distribution Details

In federal court, Fetty Wap pleaded guilty to conspiracy to possess and distribute 500 grams or more of cocaine.

The US Attorney’s Office, in their news release, revealed that court filings indicated that the distribution of narcotics occurred between June 2019 and June 2020.

The prosecutors outlined the scheme, explaining that the defendants obtained the drugs from the West Coast and transported them across the country using the United States Postal Service and vehicles with concealed compartments, ultimately distributing them in Suffolk County.

Firearm Use and Maxwell’s Role

Prosecutors highlighted that five of the defendants employed firearms to protect their drug organization and distribution chain.

In addition, Fetty Wap was identified as a “kilogram-level redistributor” within the trafficking organization.
