Sales of Buck’s Fizz and Prosecco have increased as a result of the fact that millions of Britons will celebrate New Year’s Eve at home this year due to a series of rail strikes.

Ms. Nicholls continued, “With the cost of living further lowering demand and spending, you have the twin whammy of not getting any cash in the tills [in December] and the risk of a smaller take in January and February.”

UKHospitality had predicted that its members will lose £1.5 billion owing to the strikes in December.

The RMT, the largest rail union in the United Kingdom, ended its third nationwide strike on Tuesday morning, but is threatening more industrial action beginning next month.

Approximately 40,000 personnel at Network Rail and 14 train operating firms will be absent from their shifts from January 3 to 7, resulting in the suspension of rail transport.
