Princess Anne rode from Balmoral to Edinburgh in the funeral procession

The Queen’s lone daughter, Princess Anne, was selected by her mother to ride in the funeral cortege on the six-hour trip from Balmoral to Edinburgh.

The Princess Royal, 72, was accompanied by Vice Admiral Sir Timothy Laurence, her husband of thirty years, as they were driven behind the funeral in a royal Bentley.

The Queen’s burial preparations were meticulously planned, so it’s possible that Her Majesty personally asked that her daughter go with the casket to the Palace of Holyroodhouse.

Tomorrow, when the coffin departs Scotland by plane, Princess Anne will also go to London with it, according to Buckingham Palace.

At 6 o’clock in the evening, a flight from Edinburgh to RAF Northolt in Ruislip, west London, will take off. Also on board will be the Very Reverend Professor David Fergusson, dean of the Chapel Royal in Scotland.

A state hearse will then transport it to Buckingham Palace from there.

With almost 20,000 engagements under her belt, Anne is often considered as the royal family member who works the hardest.

In addition, she is her brother, King Charles IIIpersonal ,’s confidante.
