The police have released photographs of a bloodied officer who was assaulted while on duty, warning that anyone who assaults a first responder will face “rapid and immediate action.”

Sunday evening’s attack in York resulted in the arrest of a 17-year-old female, as reported by the North Yorkshire Police.

She was later released pending investigation.

The images depict the unidentified officer with a three-inch cut in his skull and blood dripping into his eyes.

North Yorkshire Police stated that they were sharing the photographs to demonstrate “the reality” of assaults on emergency personnel.

North Yorkshire Police said that a 17-year-old girl was arrested on suspicion of assaulting an emergency worker and possession of a Class B controlled substance.

She was released pending an investigation.

Monday, North Yorkshire Police shared a series of gruesome photographs to Twitter.

They stated, “An officer was assaulted yesterday night (Sunday, September 4) while responding to an incident in York.”

They said, “Anyone who assaults a first responder should anticipate immediate and prompt action.”

Sunday evening, the unidentified cop was beaten, resulting in a huge cut to his head and blood running down his face, as shown in the image. A 17-year-old girl was arrested, but has subsequently been freed pending further inquiry.

People have conveyed their well-wishes to the police officer who was beaten after the images aroused outrage.

Meanwhile, Chief Inspector Chris Brumfitt of York and Selby stated, ‘An attack on a police officer or emergency worker is an attack on our family, and we take this extremely seriously.

Officers and emergency service personnel come to work to protect the public, not to be assaulted.

Anyone assaulting a police officer in York or North Yorkshire can anticipate prompt and severe action.
