Pilot and passenger escape helicopter accident in California yard

The pilot and the chopper’s only passenger were miraculously saved in a frightening helicopter accident in California that was captured on film by a doorbell camera.

Around 9:54 a.m. local time, a collision occurred in Fresno on Garrett Avenue, close to Jensen and Willow Avenue, in the southeast of the city.

A vehicle is seen driving perilously away in the footage, which was captured by a Ring camera and shows the aircraft plunging out of the sky and slamming into a palm tree.

People ultimately begin to swarm around the pilot and the passenger as they exit the Bell 206B helicopter.

Police said that both the pilot and passenger, a man in his seventies and a man in his thirties, were awake, breathing, and speaking.

The two only had minor wounds, and they received medical attention for them at a nearby hospital. According to ABC30, their present state is unclear, but they are anticipated to live.

Although the helicopter struck a tree in front of a home, the structure was only slightly damaged, and no one else inside the house or anywhere else in the neighborhood was hurt.

The pair suffered only minor injuries and were treated for them at a local hospital. Their current condition is unknown but they are expected to survive

Authorities were informed by the crew that it had originally been a test trip in a survey helicopter. Both of them made a loud pop sound before falling.

According to the authorities, they believe that the helicopter struck one of the homes on its side before crashing into the palm tree and coming to a stop.

The area has been blocked off by authorities for the next day. The collision is still under investigation.

The National Transportation Safety Board is sending someone, but the Federal Aviation Administration already has a representative there.
