Pilot in danger as helicopter nosedives towards rocks at French lighthouse

On Wednesday, as the helicopter approached a lighthouse off the coast of France, it abruptly nose-dived towards a rocky outcrop in a blaze of flames, putting the pilot’s life in danger.

The renovation-in-progress Vielle Lighthouse, located half a mile off of France’s most westerly point at Pointe du Raz in the Finistère region, was where the chopper was headed.

The helicopter is seen on camera as it approaches the imposing building to transport and remove equipment on a clear day.

The helicopter appears to suddenly disengage from the front, and it lurches crazily into a terrifying 90-degree angle before plunging.

As the rocks get closer, it loses altitude drastically, but the pilot is able to level it out and prevent a crash.

The chopper begins to gain altitude and appears to be in control as a cloud of smoke emerges from the rotors and spreads across the rocky outcrop.
