Oscar Mayorga, 25, of the Apopka Police Department had to be pulled over when a local resident saw the police cruiser running stop signs and called the cops

Authorities said a Florida employee was seen by his coworkers swerving down the street in a police vehicle while intoxicated.

When a local called the police because they witnessed a car breaking stop signs, Oscar Mayorga, 25, of the Apopka Police Department, had to be pulled over.

When additional officers came and ordered Mayorga to roll down the window, they smelled alcohol when he did so.

Mayorga spoke slurred to the cops, claiming to be on his way to work even though he had already begun his shift.

He initially claimed to have taken three benadryl, a sleeping aid and allergy medication, two hours prior.

However, he had overlooked the open beer can in the middle cup holder that the other cops had seen.

The police reportedly questioned him, “Why would you take three Benadryl knowing you had to work tonight?” according to Fox News.

He said that he was trying to fall asleep but his explanation didn’t make sense.

He finally acknowledged to downing three cans of beer, getting in his police car, and taking off.

Mayorga had a blood alcohol level of 0.391 g/210 l, which is almost five times the legal limit.

He was put on administrative leave while the police look into the matter more thoroughly.
