Olivia Newton-John passed away on Monday at her Southern California ranch, according to her spokesperson and CBS News. She was 73 years old.

This morning, Dame Olivia Newton-John, age 73, died away quietly at her Southern California ranch.

Olivia Newton-John published this on Monday, August 8, 2022.
“Olivia has been a symbol of success and optimism for almost three decades by sharing her breast cancer struggle. Her therapeutic inspiration and pioneering expertise with plant medicine continue via the Olivia Newton-John Foundation Fund, which is devoted to cancer research with plant medicine “the Facebook post read.

Newton-John broke into the Hollywood scene in 1978 with her portrayal as Sandy in “Grease” alongside John Travolta’s Danny.

The English-Australian artist, a four-time Grammy Award winner, sold 100 million CDs with songs such as “I Truly Love You” and “Have You Ever Been Mellow?” In the 1980s, she also had massive successes with “Physical” and “Magic.”

Gayle King, co-host of “CBS Mornings” in 2019, asked the actress how she had dealt with her breast cancer diagnosis.

“Denial is fantastic!” Newton John was amused. “It’s really nutritious! But it consumed my whole day. And then I said, ‘You know what? I do not know how much time I have left, but I must enjoy my life. So, if I want a cookie, I will consume one. And I’ll have a cup of tea if I want one. And if I choose to have a little amount of alcohol, I will do so.’ Because the pleasure of life and daily existence must also be a component of this healing process.”
