Noel Phillips was’shaken’ as he thanked the Metropolitan Police for capturing him.

Met stated that a 17-year-old male was detained after an incident that occurred at 2.15am today.

Good Morning Britain news anchor Noel Phillips said that he was robbed, racially abused, and spit upon, leaving him “shaken.”

Mr. Phillips, GMB’s North America reporter, informed worried followers on Twitter that a ‘ruthless thief’ allegedly assaulted him early Saturday morning on a popular Central London street.

He uploaded a picture of a guy being restrained by two Met Police officers and praised Sergeant Clark and PC Busson for enabling him to be “caught and detained.”

Yesterday, I was robbed, attacked racially, and spit upon on a major street in downtown London. I’m fine. Just shocked,’ Mr. Phillips said today on Twitter.

Today about noon, Mr. Phillips said on Twitter: ‘Yesterday on a busy street in downtown London, I was robbed, racially abused, and spit upon. I’m fine. Just rattled.

“Thanks to Sgt Clark and PC Busson from @metpoliceuk’s Euston town centre squad, I was able to apprehend and hold the savage thief who was previously on probation for robbery,” the tweet reads.

The TV journalist got condolences from industry colleagues and fans in response to his article.

The Metropolitan Police have announced that a 17-year-old male has been detained after officers were notified to an incident on New Oxford Street at around 2:15 a.m. today.

He is presently being held in detention on suspicion of robbery and a public order offense with racial aggravation.

The police said that the suspected thief was not wounded and that the event is still under investigation.

A representative for the Metropolitan Police Department said, “A male was apprehended when police on patrol in central London interfered in a robbery.”

“Around 02:15 on Saturday, September 3, police on patrol in New Oxford Street, WC1 were made aware of the occurrence.”

After remarks were made, a 17-year-old guy was detained on suspicion of robbery and for a racially-aggravated public order offense. He remains detained.

The victim of the robbery was not wounded.
