Nine-year-old girl shot in a drive-by shooting in Connells Point, south Sydney

On the same Connells Point Street where a similar incident occurred eight months ago, a nine-year-old girl was shot in a drive-by shooting.

With injuries to her hip, the youngster was taken urgently and with police protection to Sydney Children’s Hospital in Randwick. She is said to be in a stable state right now.

When the shooter began firing at approximately 5.50 p.m., she is said to have been unloading goods from their car alongside her mother and two other kids.

The rest of the family made it out safely.

Following reports of many shots fired, emergency personnel flocked to a residence on Queens Road in Connells Point, according to police.

The nine-year-old received first assistance from emergency personnel before NSW Ambulance paramedics arrived.

One neighbor told the Daily Telegraph, “I raced outside when I heard the rounds and I could smell the gun powder.”

“I heard a woman sobbing.”

Now that a crime scene has been formed, St. George Police Area Command personnel have started their initial investigations.

The girl was rushed under police escort to Sydney Children's Hospital in Randwick, with reported injuries to her hip. It's understood she is now in a stable conditionAround the house, a police operation is still in progress.

A burnt-out automobile was discovered in the adjacent district of Oatley, and forensic testing is being done on it right now. In a nearby street, a guy was taken into custody.

The connection between the gunshot, the burned-out automobile, and the arrest is now unknown.

Nine bullets were fired into a house on the same block in November, although the two males inside at the time were unharmed.

On that occasion, cops also discovered a neighboring burned-out automobile.
