Missing eight-year-old boy’s body found in pond north of Canberra

A pond north of Canberra has yielded the body of an eight-year-old kid who had been missing since Saturday morning.

The bodies of a woman and a little boy, thought to be Pranav Vivekanandan’s mother and brother, were recovered in Yerrabi Pond at Gungahlin and he was reported missing.

Sunday morning at 11 a.m., after two days of searching, authorities recovered the boy’s body from the pond.

Three fatalities are being investigated by ACT police, and a report will be prepared for the coroner.

Authorities stated in a statement, “At this time, police do not suspect any other parties were involved.”

Officers discovered the remains of the woman and other youngster in the water on Saturday, after a member of the public spotted them, and detectives subsequently seized a vehicle from a nearby parking lot.
