Recently, previously unseen photos of Michael Schumacher have been made public, leaving F1 fans in disbelief.
The renowned German Formula One driver has not been seen in public since his skiing accident in 2013, and information about his condition has been largely kept under wraps for nearly a decade.
However, ahead of the new F1 season, viewers of Netflix’s popular series Drive to Survive have been given a glimpse of season five, which features rare photos of Schumacher in one of the episodes.
The candid pictures of the seven-time F1 champion, featuring in an episode centred around his son Mick, show Schumacher with Max Verstappen as a baby, who was the son of Schumacher’s former teammate, Jos Verstappen.
Verstappen, a two-time F1 champion, speaks about growing up with the Schumacher family during the episode and says it is “amazing” that he and Mick have followed in their fathers’ footsteps.
In the photos, Schumacher can be seen holding both Max and his daughter in his lap, and playing with the future world champion as a toddler.
