Michael Schumacher’s family have ‘big plans’ for the Formula 1 star in Mallorca and have purchased a plot of land which could into their new winter home

The family of Formula One driver Michael Schumacher may make Mallorca their new winter residence if their “huge intentions” for the Spanish island are realised.

Since his skiing accident in 2013, the racing star has been kept hidden from the public eye.

His wife Corinna has been caring for him mostly at their Lake Geneva home after he was put into a medically induced coma.

In 2018, she paid £27 million for a property with unrivalled sea views, swimming pools, a big garden, a helipad, and a guest villa from Florentino Perez, the president of Real Madrid.

According to German magazine Bunte, the family is now increasing their investment on the Spanish island by spending £2.35 million to purchase a 54,315 square metre block of property close to their current mansion.

The agent described the location as “an absolute uniqueness in the region of south-west Mallorca” and noted that there are old buildings on the land that can be destroyed.

The site’s former owners demanded $3 million for the property, which is home to hundreds of almond trees.

Based on horse ranches they have on their estates in Texas and Switzerland, the Schumachers plan to build one at their new property.

Last week, Corinna sobbed as she accepted a prize in Germany on behalf of the seven-time world champion.

Along with her friends and family, she was presented with the North Rhine-Westphalia State Prize, which recognises Schumacher’s generosity and dedication to his own Germany.

It can be given to anyone who has made an outstanding contribution to the globe and is the highest civilian honour attainable to people who were born in the region.

Standing ovations were given to the celebrity during the ceremony, overwhelming Mrs. Schumacher and causing her to start crying.

An emotional celebration honouring Michael Schumacher’s exceptional career and generous spirit was held in Cologne with Corinna, Gina, and Prime Minister Hendrik Wuest, according to ex-FIA president and close friend Jean Todt, who was also present.

“I first met Michael 30 years ago, when he was driving a Ferrari, following his passion and making millions of us happy!” Never give up.

Todt also disclosed that Schumacher continues to follow Formula One and does so from home.

At Ferrari, where Schumacher won a historic five straight world championships from 2000 and 2004, the two had a successful working relationship.

In addition, Todt gave a rare update on Schumacher, who hasn’t been seen in public since his injury, saying that the two of them watch Formula One races when he comes.

According to the 76-year-old, “I don’t miss Michael; I see him.” Yes, I do watch races with Michael, that much is true.

But yes, I suppose I miss our past activities together.

Todt, who disclosed in May 2021 that he still sees his former competitor twice a month, vowed to stand behind the “strong” Schumacher.

“I don’t leave him by himself.” He and I have shared a great deal of experiences with Corinna and the family.

The beauty of what we have seen and felt is a part of who we are and will always be.

“Success and wealth can sometimes alter you. But Michael has remained the same. He’s quite powerful.
