The Queen’s death on Thursday coincided with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s European tour and intensive public relations campaign.

As the UK enters a highly orchestrated, weeks-long morning period, it is understandable that all members of the Royal Family have canceled or altered all public engagements.

In his first public address as the country’s new king, King Charles III declared a period of “Royal Mourning” for the Queen from now until seven days following her funeral.

The casket of the Queen will soon be transported to Holyroodhouse Palace in Edinburgh, Scotland.

It will then be respectfully transported to St. Giles Cathedral, where it will lie in repose for 24 hours and be on display to the public.

The casket will be taken to London, where it will lie in state at Westminster Hall for four days prior to the state funeral, which will take place on September 19 at the earliest.
