Travis Kelce Performs “Fight For Your Right” on Jimmy Fallon’s “Tonight Show”

On and off the field, recent Super Bowl champion Travis Kelce is a performer. The charming Kansas City Chiefs tight end was recently revealed as Saturday Night Live’s March 4 host (along with musical guest Kelsea Ballerini). Kelce made the revelation Friday night (Feb. 16) on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, telling Fallon and his audience, “I used to watch Saturday Night Live with my mother, and it is an absolute honor and privilege to host SNL on March 4.”

Yet, the announcement was not Kelce’s only noteworthy occurrence on the program.

After his conversation with Fallon came to an end, he and the host demonstrated their karaoke skills by performing “(You Gotta) Fight For Your Right (To Party)” by the Beastie Boys.

“I know you do karaoke,” Fallon said to Kelce as he opened their performance, explaining that there was “one song that has been very significant to you during this playoff run, and I thought maybe, if we could convince you…”

Kelce demanded to the house band The Roots, “Kick it!” as he began performing the 1986 hit.

Kelce lead the performance of the song, which has become something of a signature for him, with Fallon providing backup vocals, and they performed until the commercial break. The man seemed to be at ease when performing on stage. Given the inconsistent track record of previous SNL athlete hosts (Tom Brady, anyone? ), we hope he pulls off a spectacular episode.

The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon airs on NBC weeknights at 11:35/10:35c. This is a video of Fallon and Kelce’s karaoke performance.
