In a series of episodes titled “Sundowns Stories” on their YouTube Page, Mamelodi Sundowns debuted their film concept in January 2022 to delve into the past and undiscovered stories of their former and present footballers. Lehlogonolo Mashigo, a midfielder for Masandawana, is the first and only member of the Ladies team to appear in the Sundowns Stories collection.

With her dancing videos set to AmaPiano music, Hlogi became well-known on social media during the COVID-19 pandemic. She currently has over 400 000 Instagram followers and 342 300 TikTok followers. The midfielder mentioned how her life has transformed as a result of the Mamelodi Sundowns TV broadcast of her narrative.

“It has certainly given me more confidence and I’m much more receptive to balancing all my other talents. There are more people that recognise me now, particularly the +30 age group.”

Mashigo additionally urged South African youth to benefit from the Live Limitless internship programme, which Masandawana only recently introduced in June.

She said, “This program will induct them into their respectable industries with confidence and experience which is an invaluable position to be in. I want them to watch how I navigate my career and how I carry myself, more imperatively they must watch how I treat people.  Everyone you know brings you closer to your next yes.”

The 23-year-old Mamelodi born star also shared her favorite values from the club. “Reality is we are all from different backgrounds [that is why] it’s a special place to find family within a work space regardless of  the industry. The family aspect of it all, everyone at Sundowns has yellow blood.”
