Maps Maponyane, a media figure, has returned to Mzansi screens as the host of Mzansi Magic’s new show honouring icons.
On “Mzansi Icons,” numerous industry icons will discuss the lessons behind their successful careers with Maponyane and the audience.
Guests include the businessman and kwaito star Kabelo Mabalane, the sports executive Jessica Motaung, the musician and entrepreneur Khuli Chana, and the marketing guru Zibusiso Mkhwanazi.
During his time abroad, Maponyane has kept himself occupied by traveling. Earlier last year, he traveled to Iceland “in search of uncontaminated water.”
The film “Courting Anathi,” directed by Akin Omotoso, was executive produced by him and Terry Pheto.
“Mzansi Icons” features interviews with super-successful people and icons in their areas discussing what makes them tick and what it took to get where they are.
Viewers can anticipate tales of accomplishment, defying the odds, victory, overcoming hardship, battling with success, and the resulting reward.

The premiere of “Mzansi Icons” will air on Mzansi Magic (DStv Channel 161) at 8 p.m. on Tuesday, October 18.
