Man dies in U District Shooting

After a man was shot and murdered early on Saturday morning in the University District, detectives are looking into the incident.

Police were called to the intersection of Northeast 42nd Street and 7th Avenue Northeast at 1:04 a.m. due to allegations of a shooting.

When the police came, they discovered a man with a gunshot wound who was about 30 years old.

When Seattle Fire Department medics arrived, officers started administering first aid and subsequently transferred care to them.

The individual was pronounced dead at the site despite the medical professionals’ best efforts to save his life.

Responding to the scene, members of the SPD’s Crime Scene Investigation Unit processed it for evidence.
