Police in Maine are frantically looking for a two-year-old child and her parents who vanished last month after going camping.

Prior to their camping vacation in Phillips, Maine, Jill Sidebotham, 28, Nicholas Hansen, and their daughter, Lydia Hansen, 2, have been missing since June 27, when Sidebotham’s relatives last saw them.

On June 30, the divorced parents and their daughter, who resides with Sidebotham, were scheduled to make a comeback. According to The Boston Globe, the mother’s phone has been off since June 28 and Hansen’s hasn’t had a signal since June 29.

In a Facebook post, Sidebotham’s father Ron stated that it was “not in Jill’s nature at all to just go.”

Jill Sidebotham, 28, and her daughter Lydia Hansen, two, have been missing since June 27The three-person family was sighted on July 2 at a Walmart in Mexico, Maine, as the police were able to confirm through surveillance film. There have been no more reports of sightings.

According to Sanford police Lieutenant Matthew Gagne, “They were buying food goods and there did not appear to be anything malicious or unlawful.” “[However], without seeing them, we cannot verify their status.”

According to the wanted poster, they were last seen driving a silver 2005 Volkswagen Jetta with a black rear bumper sticker and a Maine license plate.

Despite not suspecting any wrongdoing, police are now seeking for the public’s assistance.

‘It’s more of a welfare check because it’s unusual that they haven’t reached out to the family or friends, that we’re aware of,’ Gagne said, according to The Boston Globe.

However, Sidebotham’s sister Reta Lyman warned on Facebook to ‘be careful’ of Hansen.

‘[Sidebotham] was last [seen] with my niece’s father, who is not a stable person,’ she wrote in a Facebook post. ‘He’s not ok and has been violent before, especially when he thought someone was taking Jill away.’

Ron also wrote in the comment section of one his Facebook posts, that there is ‘reason to believe he’s holding her against her will.’

The family, who does not live together, were last seen at a Mexico, Maine, Walmart buying food, which police confirmed through security footage

‘We don’t know 100 percent, but it’s a great possibility,’ he wrote.

Ron admitted to a Facebook user that he was barely hanging on but was “doing my best to keep it together” since his family has been under a lot of stress.

According to Ron, “It’s the not knowing of what’s going on.” Both my head and my stomach are being eaten away by it.

I’m meant to be the oldest and the one who watches out for them, but I can’t, Lyman said, echoing similar sentiments. She brushed away her tears and continued, “I don’t know where to go.”

She is now left to question if something about Sidebotham and Hansen’s ideas was “misunderstood,” she thinks.

The family’s disappearance has been reported to local wardens by Sanford Police, who have also contacted and are cooperating with local law enforcement organizations.

‘I was worried the second my wife told me what they were doing, but I didn’t think this would happen,’ Ron told News Center Maine. ‘I hate to say it, but I don’t trust the guy, there’s been past issues with him.’

DailyMail.com has reached out to Sidebotham’s family for comment.

Weeks before the disappearance, Hansen shared a Rachel Byram poem that features lines such as: ‘I’m done playing you game. Did you ever even care? Cause you act like I was never there. I’m not just some game.’

Sidebotham's family is worried that Hansen (pictured with his daughter) is 'holding her against her will.' Police, however, said they do not suspect foul playAdditionally, it said, “You should be embarrassed. I could have fulfilled all of your needs. because you fulfilled every desire I ever had. But you chose what you wanted. Your thoughts may be limited to one item. However, the only thing speaking is your deeds.

It is uncertain if he enjoys poetry or if he posted the poem in reference to a particular person.

On June 16, he published a second image with the caption: “If you want me in your life, figure out a method to put me there.” I’ve given up trying.

Anyone who believes they saw the family is asked to contact the Sanford Police Department.
