Limpopo transport MEC expedites bus crash report that killed 21

Tuesday, February 14th, Florence Radzilani, the Limpopo MEC for Transport and Community Safety, visited hospitals where individuals involved in the horrific bus accident in Makhado were being treated.

20 individuals were killed and 68 were injured in a head-on collision.

On Monday night, as previously reported, a bus traveling from Louis Trichardt to Vhembe District villages collided with a cash van on the N1 Highway. The bus slid off the bridge and into a river, killing at least 21 people and injuring several others.

Radzilani determined that 19 individuals perished at the spot, and two more died in the hospital. She also took advantage of the chance to contact with the families of the injured to offer comfort and encouragement, according to the province government.

Radzilani pledged to ensure that her department expedites the completion of the accident report, allowing the victims to file claims with the Road Accident Fund.
