Light blue Toyota crashes at level crossing near Teynham, Kent

At approximately 10:20 pm on Friday, a light blue Toyota crashed at a level crossing near Teynham, Kent, and careened onto railway tracks, damaging a train and the line to London being shut down for two hours.

Emergency services responded to the scene, and Southeastern Railways dispatched a response team at 10:53 pm.

The train heading towards Faversham was damaged by the car, along with the railway tracks.

Pictures taken at the site revealed that the car’s left side had been scraped, and its front windscreen wipers were raised.

It is unknown whether anyone was injured during the incident.

The car was removed from the tracks by 11:32 pm, and all lines were reopened by 12:52 am on Saturday.
