LASHMA GIVES A MINIBUS TO THE WINNER OF THE IKORODU MEGA PROMO REWARD

Mrs. Olufunke Gbadebo, a resident of Ikorodu, has won a minibus known as “Korope” in the ILERA EKO Mega Promo held at Ayangburen High School in Ikorodu.

The ecstatic woman praised Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu and the Lagos State Health Management Agency (LASHMA) for delivering on the promises made during the grassroots sensitisation campaign.

She expressed optimism that all the gifts donated and prizes earned by participants would go a long way toward alleviating their situation and overcoming their obstacles.

Mrs. Gbadebo urged all Lagos residents who have not yet enrolled in ILERA EKO to do so immediately, stating that the Health insurance is not a scam. She also pledged to share the good news about ILERA EKO, especially now that she has validated its legitimacy.

Dr. Tunji Akintade, a member of LASHMA’s Board of Directors, stated that the event demonstrated that Lagos State is on the right track to achieving Universal Health Coverage (UHC) and promised that the Agency would not rest on its laurels in ensuring that every resident of the state enrols in the Health Scheme.

Dr. Akintade, however, urged all Local Government Chairmen in the Division to consider the health of their constituents and enrol citizens, especially those who could not afford the N8,500 health plan premium.

In her remarks, the General Manager of LASHMA, Dr. Emmanuella Zamba, while giving free ILERA EKO Health plans to certain selected vulnerable individuals in the division, reminded people on the scheme to always attend the hospital when ill, as self-medication is hazardous to their health.

She informed the people that all members to the health plan, including those who could not afford the premium payment, would receive equivalent medical care at their preferred health institutions.

The Executive Chairman of the Ikorodu Local Government Area, Mr. Wasiu Adesina, represented by Mr. Lateef Afinni, praised Governor Sanwo-Olu for his dedication to ensuring that residents have access to inexpensive and high-quality healthcare.

He stated that ILERA EKO has been well received by the division’s citizens and that the local administration will continue to encourage individuals who have not yet enrolled in the programme to do so.

Similarly, the Executive Chairman of Ikorodu-West Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Mr. Olanrewaju Sulaimon, stated that ILERA EKO Health insurance is a good initiative implemented by the government to ensure easy, better, and more inexpensive access to healthcare for citizens.

Since health insurance does in industrialised nations, he urged locals to embrace the government’s ILERA EKO initiative, as the plan would play a significant part in ensuring that inhabitants receive better treatment.

In his special remarks, HRM, the Ayangburen of Ikorodu Kingdom, Oba Kabiru Adewale Shotobi, stated that ILERA EKO will reduce the number of deaths in the state, particularly maternal and infant mortality, and that begging and selling land to pay for astronomical medical costs will become obsolete.

HRM, represented by the Baale, Araromi First Gate, Chief Atobajaye Tajudeen, urged everyone in the kingdom to enrol in the programme to live a healthy lifestyle.

Dignitaries present at the event include the representative of the Executive Chairman, Imota LCDA, who is also the Vice Chairman, Mr. Wasiu Agoro; Deputy Medical Director, Ikorodu General Hospital, Dr. Femi Aletan; Iyaloja General, Ikorodu LGA, Mrs. Taofiqat Allison; Iyaloja, Allison Market, Owolowo, Mrs. Sekinat Soneye; Baale Agbede Olunla, Chief Jokogbola Mushafaru; CDC Chairmen in the Division, Christian Association Chairman representative, Mrs. Mary Shenjobi and Chairman, Ikorodu Oga Development Association (IKODASS),  Mr. Rotimi Erogbogbo among others.
