LASHMA CONDEMNS THE COLLECTION OF SERVICE CHARGES FOR LAGOS STATE RESIDENTS’ ENROLLMENT IN ILERA EKO SAYS IT IS DUBIOUS AND ILLEGAL

The Lagos State Health Management Agency (LASHMA) has described the collecting of service fees for the enrollment of Lagos State residents in ILERA EKO as a dubious and unlawful conduct.

The General Manager of LASHMA, Dr. Emmanuella Zamba, said that the Agency does not charge any service price prior to boarding residents on ILERA EKO, and that no one has the power to collect any service charge or fee on behalf of LASHMA from any resident of the state.

She admonished LASHMA Enrollment Officers, Independent Agents, and Marketing Agents who are doing such unlawful practises to cease immediately, stressing that anybody found will face the full force of the law.

Dr. Zamba said that the State is dedicated to ensuring that every person leads a healthy life, and as a result, the government of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has guaranteed that the premiums for ILERA EKO are the most economical and least expensive to date.

The General Manager complimented Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu for his dedication to attaining Universal Health Coverage (UHC) and ensuring that even the most disadvantaged in the state have access to high-quality healthcare.

She emphasised that the Standard Plan, which is ILERA EKO’s basic plan, costs N8, 500 per year, while the family plan for a father, mother, and four children under the age of 23 costs N40,000 per year, and that the Standard Plus plan costs N15,000 per year for individuals and N70,000 for families.

According to her, the plan for seniors is N34,000 per person per year and N65,000 per couple per year.

Dr. Zamba said that the State Government authorised ILERA EKO Pay-Small-Small in order to attain Universal Health Coverage (UHC) and flexible premium payment.

“With the Pay-Small-Small payment plan, an individual will pay N1,000 monthly and will commence access to care having paid  N3,000 for three months. The family plan payment option is N3,500 monthly and  N10,500 for three months. Enrollees are also free to pay the premium either quarterly or bi-annually”, she said.

Residents of Lagos are urged not to deposit funds into the personal accounts of any Agency representatives. Dr. Zamba said that all premium payments for the Lagos State Health Insurance must be sent to the LASHEF account.

The General Manager said that premiums may be deposited into the LASHEF account using the LASHMA-customized POS at the Headquarters (17, Kafi Street, Alausa, Ikeja), our Divisional Offices, and kiosks situated across the State.

She noted that payment may also be done using the LASHMA website: www.lashma.com, the Nibss E-bills platform at any Bank in Lagos State, the online banking app of enrollees, or the LASHMA USSD number 6700006#.

She said that Group and Corporate premiums may also be paid to the LASHEF Account as billed by the Agency.

The General Manager advised citizens of the State to notify the Agency’s Customer Service numbers: 0800-ASKLASHMA (0800-275527463) or 0700-ILERA EKO (0700-45372356) if anybody demands the payment of a service fee or engages in other questionable activities involving ILERA EKO.

Dr. Zamba emphasised that the Agency would not desist in its efforts to guarantee that ILERA EKO is a worthwhile investment for Lagos citizens.

She consequently urged all State residents to enrol in ILERA EKO to cut out-of-pocket medical expenses.
