Lagos State Drivers’ Institute (LASDRI) organises specialised training for professional drivers in the Lagos State Public Service Office

The Lagos State Drivers’ Institute (LASDRI) has organised specialised training for professional drivers in the Lagos State Public Service Office as part of its mission to maintain sanity and professionalism in the driving profession and among drivers in Lagos State.

The General Manager of the Institute, Mrs. Afusat Tiamiyu, welcomed the attendees to the training that was held at the LASDRI headquarters in Oshodi and said that drivers must maintain professionalism and strong work ethics in order to maintain safety.

She pointed out that drivers are crucial to the growth of the Lagos economy and must, therefore, be knowledgeable of the traffic laws and regulations that control the State’s transportation sector.

In order to gain the participants’ cooperation, Tiamiyu exhorted the drivers to view their training as a wonderful opportunity to learn more about driving and to hone their skills. She also counselled the professional drivers to switch from a fixed mindset to a growth mindset that values discipline, contentment, and positive attitudes.

She instructed the trainees to put all the knowledge they had learned throughout the exercise into practise at work and to always be aware of their cars in order to quickly identify problems.

The training curriculum covers a variety of subjects, such as car care and maintenance, road signs and markings, and drivers’ responsibilities.

The General Manager commended the Lagos State Head of Service, Mr. Hakeem Muri-Okunola, for providing the participants with the opportunity to further their education while advising all Ministries, Departments, and Agencies in the State to follow the Public Service Office’s lead and send their personnel to the Drivers’ Institute for training.
