LASDRI equips workforce essential tools for effective service delivery

The Lagos State Drivers’ Institute (LASDRI) held its annual train-the-trainer workshop with the theme “Equipping LASDRI Workforce with Essential Tools for Effective and Efficient Service Delivery” in an effort to further reposition the Lagos State public transportation sector and unleash the potential of the organisation.

The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Transportation, Mr. Kamar Olowoshago, addressed participants at the LASDRI Headquarters in Oshodi and said that the workshop represents a paradigm shift from antiquated methods of training instructors to a more acceptable practise intended to instil safety consciousness and embrace contemporary Information Communication Technology (ICT) for improved proficiency in safe road use.

According to him, the course was created to strategically reposition the institution by growing its human resources in order to improve public and road safety in Lagos State.

“The unrelenting endeavour of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu-led government at having a well-equipped workforce and an outstanding welfare package is worthy of appreciation,” the governor said.

It is thus imperative that everyone of us shifts from a fixed perspective to a growth mindset that fosters positivity, discipline, and happiness.

I therefore urge you all to see the training as a fantastic chance to increase your knowledge and trainer abilities.

Olowoshago continued by saying that the workshop would also expose the participants to skills that would help them deliver a captivating and effective training programme to improve the service platform of the Lagos State Drivers’ Institute and consistently sustain the confidence of the driving public in the service rendered by the institute to keep Lagos moving with pride.

In her opening remarks, LASDRI General Manager Mrs. Afusat Tiamiyu advised the attendees to see the gathering as a think-tank meeting to discuss new public transportation strategies as well as ways to inculcate discipline, good driving habits, and rationality in the thronging driving public.

Tiamiyu said that the training will allow the whole LASDRI workforce the opportunity to connect with one another and develop ideas and strategies targeted at reinventing public transportation in Lagos State while requesting the complete participation of all attendees.

The facilitators covered a range of subjects with the participants, such as “Vehicle Dynamics and Defensive Driving,” “Human Relations and Social Skills,” “Effective Tools for Learning,” “Business Model as a Solution to Revenue Drive for Lagos State Drivers’ Institute,” and others.
