An aspiring MMA fighter and Sydney father has claimed he is the rightful winner of a F45 fitness challenge that offered the winner a free holiday to Fiji

A fitness contest sponsored by F45 that provided a free trip to Fiji has been claimed by an aspirant MMA fighter as his due victory because it altered his life.

Ben Meakin, a Sydney parent, fully changed his way of life for the competition, getting up at the crack of dawn to run and putting in four training sessions each day for a month.

However, after a competitor who lost more weight than him won the competition, he is forced to wonder if the challenge was evaluated simply on weight loss rather than the improvement in his general health.

Mr. Meakin spent hours meal-prepping and began each day with a smoothie made with protein powder, beets, and coconut water.

He emphasized that he isn’t a disgruntled loser and only wanted a fair shot, saying that he had been determined to win the fitness challenge from the very beginning.

He admitted to A Current Affair that he had already prepared food for the week on the first day.

“I told everyone I was going to win the challenge, and I set out to win it from day one. I spent every waking hour food prepping, training, going to bed at 8.30 at night, and waking up at 3.30.”

By the end, I had become completely consumed by the competition.

For a period of four weeks, the ambitious MMA fighter paid F45 $60 every week in addition to an additional $140 for body scans that were utilized to select the winner.

Six kilograms more than Mr. Meakin, who nevertheless lost approximately 9 kilograms during the challenge, the guy who won the trip to Fiji, lost 15 kilograms.

Mr. Meakin claimed that because of his commitment to the challenge, he had to forgo time with his young son, who had been one of his main sources of motivation.

He claimed that it was challenging for him to send his family abroad because he was a primary school teacher, paid bills, and had a mortgage.

I took time away from my girlfriend and my young son’s lives. He said, “I paid my money to enter that competition and I deserved a fair shot.”

Since then, Mr. Meakin has switched to a gym that advertises that it evaluates members exclusively using body scans, which calculate how much bone, muscle, and fat a person has using formulae.

F45 stated in a statement that its task is to implement a “community-focused health transformation program aimed to provide life-changing effects.”

Each franchisee is in charge of organizing the program, carrying it out, and laying out the rules, specifications, and requirements for the challenge.

The parent firm, F45 Training Incorporated, is investigating the matter after being informed of Mr. Meakin’s problem.
