KZN Finance MEC, Nomusa Dube-Ncube announced as new Premier of KwaZulu-Natal

Nomusa Dube-Ncube is KwaZulu Natal’s new premier after Sihle Zikalala resigned last week.

Mbali Frazer and Amanda Bani opposed Dube-Ncube.

Siboniso Duma, ANC KZN Chair, said they trust Dube-Ncube to handle service delivery challenges.

Duma: “She can correct previous inequities, notably on women’s independence”

When questioned why none of the newly elected ANC KZN leadership were ready for such a huge responsibility, they indicated they’d rather have someone more experienced.

ANC KZN Deputy Chairperson, Nomagugu Simelane said as a province they are way behind time on having female leaders.

“As the province we needed to make sure that female leaders are given the opportunity to lead because they have the capacity and have proven themselves. So when the opportunity presented itself it was only fair that a female takes over,” Simelane said.
