KwaZulu-Natal Social Development MEC, Nonhlanhla Khoza, has welcomed the guilty plea by murderer and rapist, Njabulo Ndlovu, who appeared before the Pietermaritzburg High Court facing two charges of rape and murder of three people

Nonhlanhla Khoza, the MEC for Social Development in KwaZulu-Natal, has praised Njabulo Ndlovu for entering a guilty plea to two counts of rape and three counts of murder when the murderer and rapist came before the Pietermaritzburg High Court.

Zenande Ndlela, age 7, her mother Simangele Ndlela, age 46, and her grandmother Zanele Ndlela, age 65, were all killed. Ndlovu, age 29, admitted to their crimes.

In addition, he is accused of raping Zenande twice.

In their Sobantu Township house two weeks ago, it is alleged that Ndlovu twice raped the kid and strangled the deceased.

Ndlovu claimed, in a statement read in court by his attorney, that he had earlier engaged in consensual sex with Simangele and had spent the night there as a result of drinking.

According to Nldovu, a fight broke out after Zanele entered the bedroom holding a kitchen knife and ordering him to leave her home.

Zanele was allegedly killed after being stabbed three times and then strangled. Then he killed Simangele, then raped Zenande twice, killing her by strangulation.

The pathology reports from the doctor detailing the deceased’s cause of death were also acknowledged by Ndlovu.

Ndlovu was found guilty of all charges by Judge Poyo Dlwati.

Khoza praised the investigative team for their excellent job, which led to Ndlovu’s lengthy incarceration.

“It is obvious that Ndlovu planned his acts. Because of the murder of helpless ladies, we are in such great anguish.

“Even while the verdict won’t bring them back, we take solace in the fact that this horrible man will spend the rest of his life behind bars.

We appreciate the job the police did in this case investigation, which ensured a speedy resolution “added Khoza.

The MEC predicted that Ndlovu’s sentence will increase public trust in the nation’s criminal justice system.

“If police can obtain convictions, Sobantu residents, especially women, will be free to move around without fear. Those charged of such heinous crimes must serve time in prison.

“People who commit such heinous atrocities shouldn’t be allowed to live in our society.

All serial killers, serial rapists, and other offenders should learn from this sentencing that their rights are not unalienable “MEC said.

Khoza also emphasized the necessity for police to thoroughly investigate every instance of gender-based violence (GBV) and exhaust all possible leads.

“Courts should not show pity to those who molest, rape, or kill helpless women and children,” the statement reads.

While it is encouraging when police detain criminals, she continued, “what is equally vital going ahead is to secure heavier punishments.”

“We also encourage our communities to let police perform their jobs rather than enforcing the law themselves because of this.

We are happy that despite feeling wronged, the Sobantu community maintained its composure until the case’s conclusion “She spoke.

On July 21, 2022, on a Thursday, Ndlovu will be sentenced. The prosecution is requesting a sentence without parole.
