Kingston pub garden staggers 24-year-old who dies from stab wounds

Police have opened a homicide inquiry after a man died from stab wounds and staggered into a pub’s garden, where he pleaded astonished patrons for assistance.

A 24-year-old male was discovered with stab wounds in Kingston, south-west London, on Thursday, October 13, about 8.20 p.m., when cops were summoned to the scene.

Despite the efforts of the London Ambulance Service and London air ambulance, the man died at the location, which was adjacent to a park and The Albion pub.

The Metropolitan Police believe he was attacked around Fairfield Road and then made his way to Fairfield East, where he entered a pub garden where staff and patrons attempted to staunch his bleeding.

The man has not been officially named. Today, a postmortem examination will be conducted at the Kingston Mortuary.

His relatives have been notified, and they are being assisted by officers with specialized training.

The murder inquiry is being led by officers from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command, who are looking for witnesses and information.

First and foremost, my sympathies are with this young man’s family and friends,’ said DCI Wayne Jolley.

“They are being assisted by cops with specialized training, and I want to assure them that my staff and I are committed to bringing those responsible to justice.”

“Although our investigation is in its first stages, police suspect the victim was attacked on Fairfield Road.” He then traveled to Fairfield East, where he entered a pub’s garden, where patrons provided initial assistance and called the authorities.

“I’d want to thank everyone who has come forward so far to assist with our inquiry; your assistance is crucial to figuring out what happened. If you witnessed any aspect of this occurrence, even if you don’t believe it to be significant, please come forward and speak with us.’

Superintendent Richard Smith of the South West Command Unit, which oversees Kingston, stated, ‘I realize the distress this unfortunate tragedy will cause the local community, particularly given the large number of people who provided this young guy assistance immediately after the incident.

“A team of seasoned detectives is currently working relentlessly to identify and bring to justice those responsible for this crime.”
