A woman and schoolgirl were found with multiple stab wounds and a head injury

After repeatedly stabbing a schoolgirl and a woman, a man was detained on accusations of attempted murder.

Tuesday at 12:40 am, South Yorkshire Police were called to a home on Harborough Way in Sheffield.

Following allegations of a ‘domestic incident,’ they discovered a 40-year-old lady and a 15-year-old daughter with several knife wounds and a head injury.

The victims were sent to the hospital, and a 29-year-old man was detained for attempted murder.

It is thought that neither the woman’s nor the girl’s injuries are life-threatening.

The suspect remains in detention.

Detective inspector Chris Ronayne, who is conducting the investigation for the South Yorkshire Police, thinks it to be a “isolated incident.”

He said: ‘A scene remains in place as we continue to piece together the circumstances of this incident.
