King Charles’ first UK visit as monarch begins in Northern Ireland

In a heartfelt statement, Prince Harry honors “Grandmother.”

Prince Harry paid tribute to Queen Elizabeth II by saying, “We smile knowing that you and your grandfather are again reunited and at peace.”

In a statement published on the Archewell website, he honored the late Queen for her “commitment to service,” “wise guidance,” and “infectious grin.”

Harry, Duke of Sussex, appeared with his brother William outside Windsor Castle on Saturday, signaling a possible thaw in their relationship.

The men and their wives acknowledged the throngs of mourners who came to honor their deceased grandmother.

Harry’s heartfelt homage to “Granny” included a passage from her speech after the death of her husband last year: “Of course, life consists of both first and last meets.”

He added, “Granny, while this final parting brings us great sadness, I am eternally grateful for all of our first meetings, from my earliest childhood memories with you to meeting you for the first time as my Commander-in-Chief to the first time you met my lovely wife and embraced your cherished great-grandchildren.

“I love these days we’ve spent together, as well as the many other memorable occasions in between. You are already greatly missed, not only by us but by the entire globe.”
