Jose Riveiro commends Orlando Pirates staff for helping him to adjust to the Soweto giants.

Jose Riveiro, the new Spanish coach of Orlando Pirates, commended the team’s technical staff for assisting him in adjusting to the Soweto giants.

After serving as co-coaches with Fadlu Davids and Mandla Ncikazi for the 2018–19 season, Riveiro has taken over as head coach of the Buccaneers for the 2022–23 season.

Ncikazi has continued to serve as head coach of the Orlando Pirates, and Riveiro’s countryman Sergio Almenara will serve as his assistant.

Tyron Damons, the goalie coach, Miguel Bellver Esteve, Percy Moloi, the assistant conditioning coach, Stephen Plummer, and Rayaan Jacobs, the performance analyst, round out the backroom personnel.

On Saturday, August 6, Orlando Pirates will host Swallows FC in a Soweto derby to open the 2022–23 DStv Premiership season.

At Orlando Stadium, the game is set to begin at 15:30.
