John Leguizamo blasts “Super Mario Bros.” for “all white” casting

John Leguizamo, who portrayed Aurelio in “John Wick” and is located in the United States, is displeased with the producers of the animated feature “Super Mario Bros.”

According to Mirror.co.uk, the actor criticized the new film’s all-white cast and absence of “Latinx leads.”

According to Mirror.co.uk, Leguizamo (62), who was cast as Luigi in the 1993 live-action “Super Mario Bros” film, was dissatisfied with Chris Pratt’s casting as the famed Italian plumber Mario.

After the publication of the film’s first trailer, Leguizamo voiced his worries about it. In addition, he applauded the color-blind casting decisions made for the original film in which he starred.

Using Twitter, he posted: “So happy that #superMariobros is receiving a reboot! Clearly, it is iconic (enough). Unfortunately, they got all white! No Latinos in the leading roles! Innovative color-blind casting in the original production!”

Latinx is a gender-neutral term used to describe all members of the Latin community, regardless of their gender experiences.

The “Mirror” reports that he continued by stating that he was the only person who could make the movie work “script wise,” writing: “Plus, I’m the only guy who knows how to make this movie work script wise!”

Chris Pratt will play the legendary character of Mario in the 2023 film, while Charlie Day will portray his younger brother Luigi.
