Joe Rogan debates abortion with Babylon Bee’s CEO

In the most recent episode of his podcast, Joe Rogan brought up his daughter during a discussion of abortion rights.

On Tuesday’s episode of The Joe Rogan Experience, the controversial podcaster engaged in a heated discussion about abortion rights with the founder and CEO of Babylon Bee, Seth Dillon. In a September 2021 Twitter thread, Dillon tried to refute arguments in favor of abortion

Dillon has been opposed to abortion for a long time, even saying on Twitter that it is healthcare in the same way that ‘rape is lovemaking,’ and on Tuesday he stated that abortion should be prohibited even in cases of rape.

This appeared to enrage Rogan, who said, “There are women who have been raped who should not have to f****** carry the child of a rapist.” There are women who have experienced sexual assault prior to the age of 14.”

However, Dillon replied, “There are persons who were born as a result of rape who are currently alive and pro-life.”

They walk around proclaiming, “I had the right to live.” They will argue that they were born as a result of rape.

Rogan, however, strongly disagreed, stating, “You have no right to tell a 14-year-old girl that she must bear a rapist’s child.” Do you comprehend what I am saying?

You have no right to tell my 14-year-old daughter that she must carry the child of her rapist.

You are aware that the child is 14 years old. A 14-year-old girl is raped, and you want her to carry that baby?’

Dillon then responded that he does not believe that “two wrongs make a right,” stating, “I do not believe that murder rectifies a rape.”

Rogan is the father to Lola, age 14, whom he shares with his wife Jessica Ditzel, as well as Rosy, age 12. He is also the step-father to Ditzel’s oldest daughter, Kayja Rose, 23, from a prior relationship. During Tuesday’s broadcast of The Joe Rogan Experience, Rogan attempted to elicit Dillon’s position on abortion clarification.

He questioned the founder of the conservative satire website about his stance on abortions at six weeks, four weeks, and three days. What if she tested positive for pregnancy just now? What if it happened just today?

Once life has began, I do not believe it is possible to draw lines.

I would outline it as follows: I would state “It is unethical to purposefully kill an innocent person. Abortion intentionally kills an innocent human life. Therefore, abortion is unethical “‘

Then, he stated that he does not believe that questions regarding whether a fetus may experience pain or is conscious are important.

Dillon explained, “If it is a human life, a distinct human existence, I believe it is wrong to end its life.”

Rogan then asked Dillon when he believes life began. Do you believe that after conception occurs, a miracle event takes place? As if you could reach the point where the sperm breaks the egg. If you could immediately remove that egg, would it constitute abortion?

Well, eventually you’re going to have to declare that there was a magical moment, if you believe that we finally become valuable human beings, right? Dillon answered.

He went on to state that he believes it is “destructive misinformation” to refer to a fetus as “a clump of cells” because it encourages individuals to eliminate a human life as if it were nothing. It is a growing human life.’

Then he stated his contentious argument: “I believe abortion is health care in the same way that rape is love making, if we take rape as an example.” I believe they are opposites, and we employ these euphemisms.

We use the term “healthcare” to refer to a technique that kills an innocent human life, but we call it “healthcare.”

At that point, Rogan conceded: ‘This is why it’s such a human issue, because I see what you’re saying.

Yes, life is valuable, and many were almost victims of abortion, but they weren’t; they went on to become extraordinary individuals, and we would have lost them.

The debate was shared on Twitter by pro-life activist Lila Rose, who responded to Joe Rogan, ‘I believe we have a lot in common when it comes to protecting families, combating censorship, and living a meaningful life.’

Rogan has previously highlighted his support for abortion rights on his program, bringing up the matter when a leaked draft memo from the Supreme Court suggested earlier this year that the high court would overturn Roe v. Wade, the landmark case that legalized abortion rights.

On the May 4 show, he stated, “I don’t like it when other people tell me what I can and cannot do.”

Nonetheless, he agreed that it is a complex subject as he discussed the abortion cutoff period.

“About six months old, the baby starts acting strangely,” he said.

‘I am aware that some states allow late-term abortions and that they are occasionally necessary for medical reasons, correct? If the lady gives birth, she may perish. As if it were a choice that individuals must make.

Rogan stated at the time, “I support a woman’s right to choose in any way possible.” As a human observer, however, there is a significant difference between a little cluster of cells and a fetus with an eyeball and a beating heart.

Meanwhile, Dillon has long opposed abortion rights, arguing that it constitutes murder.

In a September 2021 Twitter conversation, he attempted to dispute pro-abortion arguments by asserting, “Abortion is healthcare in the same way that rape is lovemaking.”

He stated, “Autonomy has always been limited, and this is especially true for parents.” They must never injure or neglect their children in the sake of autonomy.

And with regard to the question of when life begins, he advised that “we should use utmost prudence and err on the side of life to avoid the possibility of killing an innocent, live human being?”

Dillon also questioned in the thread what the fetus’ ability to survive outside the womb has to do with a person’s humanity or value, and stated: ‘It’s preferable to be poor than dead.’

He then offered that women who are considering an abortion place their kid up for adoption, which, he added, “enables you to place your child with a loving, financially stable family rather than kill him or her.”

Since the Supreme Court opted to overrule its landmark Roe v. Wade ruling granting women the right to abortion nationally, abortion rights have been a prominent topic in the United States.

Consequently, each state could now determine whether or not to permit abortion.

Similar to the infamous Plessy v. Ferguson decision, Roe was egregiously incorrect and on a collision course with the Constitution from the moment it was adopted.

‘Those on the losing side – those who desired to advance the State’s interest in fetal life – could no longer attempt to persuade their elected officials to adopt policies commensurate with their views.’

“The Court circumvented the democratic process by excluding the vast majority of Americans who disagreed with the Roe decision,” the ruling continued.

In response, protests erupted around the nation, with some abortion rights advocates even storming the homes of the judges.

Outside the home of Justice Alito in Alexandria, Virginia, protesters yelled “abort the court” as they marched up and down his street, lit candles, and screamed slogans such as “Alito is a coward” and “our bodies, our choice.”

A gathering of several dozen individuals brandished placards, drummed, and waved flags in front of Thomas’s residence in Virginia.

They shouted, “My body, my choice!” while holding up placards that called Thomas a “treasonous turd” and proclaimed, “Reproductive rights = human rights.”

As these protests persisted on the justices’ grounds, lawmakers met to discuss a bill to protect the Supreme Court justices from any danger, and former White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki criticized the ‘violence, threats, and vandalism.

She wrote, “Judges play a vital role in our society, and they must be able to execute their duties without fear for their personal safety.”
