Jim Molan warns of Chinese sneak attack on Taiwan in penultimate interview before cancer death

In his final interview before his death, Senator Jim Molan warned that a surprise Chinese missile attack on the United States before to an invasion of Taiwan may render Australia nearly defenseless.

Recently deceased Australian Senator Jim Molan has argued in his last interview that Australia should be ready for a surprise missile attack on US forces before any invasion of Taiwan
Molan, who was an army major general before entering politics, told Sky News that Australia must be ready for such an invasion or end up under China’s heel as he delivered his last interview before dying from cancer in January.

In an interview for the SkyNews documentary Are We Ready For War?, which is scheduled to show at 7.30pm on Wednesday, Molan stated that Australia must be prepared and cited the Ukraine as evidence that large conflicts are not a thing of the past.

“We must plan for the worst-case scenario,” he told SkyNews reporter Peter Stefanovic.China's military power (pictured the People's Liberation Army in near Inner Mongolia) could see it dominate the western Pacific, Molan argued

Molan did not believe that China would invade Taiwan in a manner comparable to the D-Day invasion of Nazi-occupied Europe during World War II.

He said that amassing their forces for such an operation would provide the United States and Taiwan with weeks or possibly months of notice of the impending attack.

Molan instead stated that China could conduct a covert missile attack against US soldiers in the western Pacific, effectively isolating Taiwan from its most important friend and defender.

Molan stated, “It is precisely the type of action that has the potential to grant China regional dominance plus Taiwan.”

I believe they will neutralize the United States and take control of the western Pacific.

Molan stated that under such a situation, China may pose a very difficult question to other potential rivals such as Japan, South Korea, and Australia.

“Are you truly going to fight us now that the Americans no longer support you?”China's president Xi Jinping (pictured) has been unwavering in claiming that Taiwan will return to mainland sovereignty

Molan congratulated the Albanese government for restoring Australia’s relations with China but said we had to be prepared for any circumstance.

He believed China had no interest in directly attacking Australia, but as part of a Taiwan invasion scenario, it could destroy Western satellites and undersea cables, severing Australia’s connectivity to the rest of the world.

He stated, “We must stand up for ourselves.”

To secure ourselves and the areas surrounding us, including the Indonesian archipelago and the South Pacific, we should be self-sufficient in our military.

The alternative was to become a “tributary state” to China alongside the rest of the western Pacific region.

Since a civil war in 1949, Taiwan has been ruled independently from mainland China, but President Xi Jinping’s Chinese Communist Party asserts that the island is part of ‘One China’ and has repeatedly announced its ambition to retake the territory.

Beijing has accused Taiwan of utilizing the United States and other Western friends to bolster its efforts to maintain independence, and has insisted that the United States is manipulating Taiwan in order to ‘contain’ Chinese influence.

The United States has frequently stated that it will defend Taiwan in the event of an invasion.

General Mike Minihan issued a directive to all of his subordinates in 2025 to be prepared for war with China.

Paul Dibb, a lecturer at the Australian National University, cautioned that if a fight broke out, Australia would be drawn into it to help the United States, or else the ANZUS alliance would be jeopardized.
