Jean Nassif leaves for Lebanon before the Hills Shire Council parliamentary investigation

Flamboyant real estate entrepreneur Jean Nassif fled Australia for rural Lebanon while avoiding the parliamentary investigation into council members’ suspected improper behavior.

The Hills Shire Council and the alleged involvement councillors played in real estate projects in Sydney’s north west are the subjects of the NSW parliamentary investigation.

In a letter to the committee, Nassif requested that the investigation be postponed if his testimony was required since he would be unable to attend because he would be in his native Lebanon until March.

In the letter, Mr. Nassif emphasised that he hadn’t spoken to the new council members and refuted any accusations of impropriety.

The letter said, “I have not met any of the present councillors of the Hills Shire Council.”

I don’t know whether they agree with my advancements.

I am unsure whether they encourage my progress more or less than the prior council members.

Mr. Nassif vehemently refuted charges made by Castle Hill MP Ray Williams that he spent a lot of money to appoint new council members to The Hills Shire in order to support his future development projects.

Williams earlier informed the NSW Parliament that he had received claims that legislators were given “substantial monies in order to put new councillors on” who would support Nassif’s firm Toplace’s future development proposals.

These remarks prompted the upper house probe, which will get under way on Wednesday (February 15).

In his letter, Nassif also accused departing Transport Minister and local MP David Elliott of trying to “discredit internal opponents” so he could keep his job.

I truly wonder why Mr. Elliott didn’t use this time and effort to uphold the law, improve as a minister, and garner support from his constituents and the Liberal Party, the letter said.

Additionally, he said that Mr. Elliott had “encouraged journalists” to write about potential irregularities concerning his ventures.

In 2019, Mr. Nassif rose to fame after surprising his wife Nisserine “Nissy” Nassif with a $480,000 yellow Lamborghini for Valentine’s Day.

Congratulations Mrs. Nassif, he had written on a video of him giving the fancy car to the mother of his children. do you like?”

She was seen going towards the garage where the vehicle was stored in the footage of Mr. Nassif giving his wife the Lamborghini.

Mrs. Nassif stepped next to the car while sporting a Gucci belt and kissed her supporters.

As a result, the Nassifs were made fun of for the showy display, with various meme films appearing on social media substituting wheelie bins and toy trucks for the fancy automobile.

After becoming tired of the viral videos, Mrs. Nassif responded to her critics on Instagram by advising them to concentrate on themselves and “how you can build a decent opulent life for yourself, your wives, children, and loved ones.”
