Jane Fonda blames racism for the “climate crisis”: ‘Everything is linked.’

On “The Kelly Clarkson Show,” 85-year-old Jane Fonda blamed racism for the “climate crisis.”

This week, Fonda, Tomlin, Moreno, and Field promoted “80 for Brady” on the chat program and discussed their social engagement.

Fonda stated she learned about the Vietnam War. “When I realized what that was about, I had to join the movement to stop it.”

Fonda was dubbed “Hanoi Jane” after standing on an anti-aircraft gun in North Vietnam in 1972.

Clarkson asked Fonda how she expanded her involvement, and the actress said it was easy.

“You can take anything—sexism, racism, misogyny, homophobia, whatever, the war,” the actress remarked. “And if you really get into it, study it, learn about it, the history of it, and everything’s connected. No climate problem without racism.”

“Where would they put the s—?” Fonda answered to Moreno’s question.

In “80 For Brady,” Rita Moreno plays Maura, Jane Fonda Trish, Lily Tomlin Lou, and Sally Field Betty.

“Where would they put poison and pollution?” Fonda continues. Bel Air won’t get it. They need an area where impoverished, indigenous, or people of color live. Place it. They’re defenseless. That’s why climate justice is a significant aspect of the climate movement.”

Fonda was detained at a Washington, D.C., climate change event in October 2019. The actress was accused with “crowding, obstructing or incommoding.”

After gaining Netflix’s permission to take time off from “Grace and Frankie,” Fonda told the Los Angeles Times she planned to spend four months in Washington for sit-ins and demonstrations.
