Marcus R., a self-proclaimed “disgusting” paedophile, has been sentenced to 14 years and six months in prison for sexually abusing 13 children as young as one month old over a period of 14 years.
The district court of Cologne heard that the married computer specialist drugged the young girls and boys inside their homes before sexually abusing them as they screamed in pain.
He would film himself abusing the young children and share them on chat rooms with other paedophiles. Investigators said they needed 17 days to copy the data from his computer due to the sheer volume of horrific videos and images.
Marcus R., from Wermelskirchen, posed as a trustworthy babysitter and would sexually abuse the children while their parents went to work or went out with friends.
Among those he abused were the two young sons of a police officer. In 2007, Beate M. hired Marcus R. to look after her children, who were then aged two and four, after several supervised play dates. During those hours alone, he would drug the boys before sexually abusing them and torturing them with sex toys he had brought in his bag.
Marcus R. would encourage fathers to abuse their children and found the children’s “whining and resistance” stimulating, according to messages he wrote to other abusers on an online chat.
He was arrested by police officers in December 2021 at his family home. During the trial, the court heard that Marcus R. had committed 124 crimes against the children, the youngest being a girl who was just a month old.
Today, Marcus R. was sentenced to 14 years and six months in prison for his “sadistic” crimes. The IT expert appeared in court covering his face with a piece of paper. “Behind a bourgeois facade there was a dark side,” Judge Christoph Kaufmann said of Marcus R. according to Bild. Beate M. was told by police officers that Marcus R. had sexually abused her children while he had been their babysitter.
