A paedophile has been jailed for 19 years for kidnapping a seven-year-old boy as he got out of his school bus and holding him hostage in a bleak cellar for 52 days

A pedophile who abducted a seven-year-old boy as he exited his school bus and held him captive in a dark cellar for 52 days has been sentenced to 19 years in prison.

Dmitry Kopylov, 28, has been detained in a Russian correctional colony with a severe rule.

The dark cellar where the youngster was kept and subjected to sexual assault is visible on camera.

As well as this youngster, Kopylov was also accused of committing 62 additional offenses against a previous victim who was not held captive.

They included creating and disseminating child pornography as well as “committing sodomy and other sexual acts against a young boy.”

His crimes go back to that year.

Kopylov was given a sentence of 19 years, 11 months, and a judge decided that he must get mental health care while incarcerated in a maximum security facility.

In November 2020, Interpol received a tip that led to the child’s rescue and reunion with his parents. Interpol’s tip was based on Western intelligence.

To enter the lair where he was being held, Russian special forces had to smash through a steel door and break a window. It was a spooky, low-ceilinged basement with bare walls that had been created especially to house an abducted youngster.

When the officers entered, the “brainwashed” child “laughed with joy,” but he afterwards sobbed.

He was the subject of a thorough search that the police, soldiers, and volunteers conducted after he vanished.

Following a tip from Interpol, police were able to locate the youngster at the abductor’s hideout, which was about 14 miles from the boy’s home in the Vladimir region’s Gorki hamlet, where he had vanished in late September.

Kopylov was apprehended when it was claimed that he boasted about holding the boy in dark web talks between pedophiles.

The eerie underground bunker was soundproofed beneath Kopylov’s home in Makarikha, Vladimir area, about 185 miles from Moscow, and featured a bed modeled after a prison cell and a heater.

While the paedophile lived upstairs, a hatch entrance led to a lower level.

The suspect was on a sofa with the youngster when heavily armed officers raided the building.

Kopylov is seen being held by special forces soldiers in video.

The youngster, who is being held by a plainclothes Russian policeman, is heard berating the policemen for breaking the window when they burst in while they are still within the hell hole.

In court, Kopylov admitted to Vesti TV that he felt “remorse” for his acts.

He remarked, “I would like to apologize to my victims.”

“I did not act in a humane manner, but I had no other option,” I said.

He declared that he will fight his conviction because he would be detained with murderers even though “I didn’t kill anyone, I didn’t make them crippled.”

The paedophile responded, “I could no longer bear it,” when asked why he felt obligated to abduct the boy.

“I’ve desired a kid too long.”

Kopylov, a computer nerd from Suzdal, is the deceased son of an electrician and a kindergarten teacher.

He had purchased the home and was putting substantial modifications into it, including building the bunker underground.

Colonel Irina Volk of the Russian Interior Ministry claimed that “international colleagues through Interpol channels” had provided the tip regarding the boy.

She claimed that information concerning the boy’s whereabouts had come from “publications in the shadow section of the Internet.”

With assistance from organizations in other nations, US specialists are thought to have played a key role in determining the name of the alleged paedophile.

“A young kid is back where he belongs – with his family,” said Interpol Secretary General Jürgen Stock, “thanks to devoted specialist officers and prompt action by authorities throughout the world.”

Although we are genuinely happy that this tale has a happy ending, many children are still in danger and in need of rescue, he said.

He was overjoyed to see his mother, according to the boy’s 49-year-old father, Alexander. He gave her a hug and a kiss.

We are overcome by emotions…

There is a flurry of feelings as well as relief that the trauma is ended. He is finally discovered.

It was discovered that the child is currently receiving “serious psychological help.”
