Dr. Naledi Pandor, minister of international relations and cooperation, has arrived in Bali, Indonesia, for a two-day G20 Foreign Ministers’ Meeting (G20 FMM).

The meeting is slated to take place from July 7–8, 2022, according to the Department of International Relations and Cooperation (DIRCO).

The G20 FMM will debate current geopolitical tensions around the world, their humanitarian as well as socioeconomic repercussions, and the role and contribution of the G20 in building multilateralism.

It will be held under the subject “Recover Together, Recover Stronger.”

The department announced on Wednesday that Minister Pandor would hold bilateral talks with several of her counterparts “on the fringes of the G20 meeting to explore topics of multilateral cooperation and shared interests.”

Following a fruitful meeting with Singapore’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Vivian Balakrishnan, Pandor traveled to Bali.

Pandor visited a number of government and commercial organizations while there, including the National Research Foundation (NRF) and the Singapore Institute of Technical Education (ITE), to advance collaboration and look into potential future development exchanges between South Africa and the island nation.
