Homeless woman among four charged with Paris suitcase murder of 12-year-old Lola

A 24-year-old homeless woman with ‘potential mental health concerns’ is among the six persons detained in Paris for the murder of a 12-year-old child whose body was discovered in a bag.

Lola Daviet’s lifeless body was marked with the numerals ‘1’ and ‘0’ and placed in a plastic suitcase near her home before being dumped in the inner courtyard of a building in the northeast of the French capital.

According to Le Parisien, Dahbia B., the main suspect, was indicted this morning alongside her accused getaway driver. They are accused of murdering a minor, raping, torturing, and engaging in depravity.

On Friday night, when the body was discovered, three persons were arrested near the crime scene, followed by a lady who had been seen on surveillance footage with the youngster hours before her death. Le Parisien said that two more were also arrested, adding that they are all Algerian nationals.

The girl was discovered with her feet and wrists bound, tape wrapped around her face, and many wounds to her throat, mere hours after her parents reported her missing after she failed to return home from class at the Georges-Brassens college, which was only yards from her home.

According to a police source cited by French network BFMTV, she had numerals imprinted on her body via a ‘device’ rather than sliced into her skin.

Saturday’s autopsy revealed that asphyxiation was the cause of her demise.

The young girl, wearing a white attire and carrying what looks to be a schoolbag, was captured on chilling security camera footage entering her building behind a woman who, according to witnesses, was later seen carrying the suitcase.

The suspect and her sister were arrested at Bois-Colombe (Hauts-de-Seine) on Saturday morning, according to a person familiar with the case who spoke to franceinfo. The suspect was wearing white sneakers, light leggings, and a grey sweater in CCTV footage.

She and her sibling are both in their twenties.

French media have identified the deceased girl as Lola Daviet. Her body was discovered inside a plastic suitcase close to her house in the French capital on Friday night, prompting a murder investigation.

Lola is partially concealed by the door as she follows her suspected murderer, depicted in the center of the image. The suspect is observed wearing a grey sweater, white leggings, and athletic shoes. Lola followed her rapidly into the building.

The unfortunate girl was discovered outside an apartment building in the 19th arrondissement of the French capital near the Buttes-Chaumont park on Friday evening, after she had been reported missing.

The police informed the French media that they had discovered traces of kidnapping in the building’s basement and had opened a murder investigation.

The guy was captured on surveillance footage carrying a suitcase while standing outside Lola’s building.

The security camera footage also saw the culprit entering Lola’s building at 3:20 p.m., shortly followed by the little victim.

A few blocks away on Rue d’Hautpoul, Lola’s body was discovered in the luggage depicted in the CCTV footage, which the police believe is the same bag seen in the CCTV tape.

A local resident informed BFMTV that he spotted the guy lugging the bag roughly two hours before Lola’s disappearance.

The homeowner stated, “We observed her enter the building, she was alone herself, and half an hour later we saw her with a suitcase; she was speaking with everyone and seemed a bit insane.”

He then asserted that the suspect left the luggage in the street before dragging it away as she casually entered a patisserie and purchased a croissant.

“She was trying to handle the luggage, but we assumed it was due to the hefty contents and her slender build; we never suspected it was a body…” At 5 p.m., she was wandering around with that suitcase; she even left it in front of a café and proceeded to the bakery across the street to get a croissant as if nothing had happened, according to the witness.

On Friday evening, a homeless guy who found an abandoned luggage on the street discovered Lola’s body.

The girl was discovered on Rue d’Hautpoul (pictured) in the 19th arrondissement of the French capital after her mother reported her missing when she failed to return from school.

According to reports, the schoolgirl’s face was covered with tape, her feet and fists were bound, and she had multiple slashes to her throat.

Delphine, the mother of the victim, contacted police at 5:00 p.m. on Friday when she became concerned that her daughter had not come home. She then posted a frantic plea for assistance on social media.

Delphine shared a snapshot of Lola along with the accompanying message: ‘Our daughter Lola was last seen at 3:20 p.m. at our apartment with a woman we do not know.’

The camera footage from the building’s entrance only caught Lola pursuing her suspected assailant into her apartment complex.

Less than six hours later, a homeless man alerted the police when he allegedly stumbled over the suitcase and discovered the body inside at approximately 11:30pm on Rue d’Hautpoul – a short distance from the victim’s residence.

Police have detained a number of individuals, including the female suspect observed carrying the bag and the homeless guy who reported discovering Lola’s body.

The prosecutor revealed to BFMTV that evidence of a struggle were uncovered in one of Lola’s building’s basement rooms.

Officials in Paris said that the staff and pupils of Lola’s school, Georges-Brassens, as well as those of other schools, would receive psychological care.
