Here’s when Pitso and Tau will face Sundowns with Al Ahly

There’s a lot going on, so please allow us to remind you, Pitso Mosimane and Percy Tau are edging close to a day they’ve never imagined: battle Mamelodi Sundowns in the colours of Al Ahly. Wow, really, who could have imagined this ever happening?

SUNDOWNS TO FACE MOSIMANE AND TAU WITH AL AHLY IN THE CAF CHAMPIONS LEAGUE

As The South African previously confirmed, the South African champions were drawn in Group A of the 2021/22 CAF CL showpiece. The group includes the Egyptian giants, Sundowns, and a bit oddly, the two Sudanese clubs Al Hilal and Al-Merrikh.
The game that matters the most, with Mosimane and Tau, will be on Friday 25 February against Al Ahly.
Favourably, Kabo Yellow will first battle the two somewhat minnows of the group in Pretoria and Omdurman, before making the big flight to Cairo to face Mosimane and Tau on 25 February.
Sundowns CAF CL fixtures in February:

  • 11th: Al Hilal (home)
  • 19th: Al-Merrikh (away)
  • 25th: Ahly (away).

MAMELODI SUNDOWNS LAUNCH THE TEKO MODISE STORY: DONA – LIFTING THE CURSE

Teko Modise’s Dona – Lifting the Curse has become the first episode of Mamelodi Sundowns’ new groundbreaking project, Sundowns Stories on YouTube.
The obvious question is, what is this Teko Modise short film really about? The story simply captures the former Mamelodi Sundowns players’ ‘curse’ his glittering career when it hit the darkest of times before the voodoo was eventually lifted.
The episode opens with one of the DStv Premiership legend’s greatest ever goals while he was still playing for SuperSport United. The next scene sees the Soweto-born star expressing what is presumably his acquired philosophy: “If you love and respect this game, it will love you tenfold,” said the 39-year-old.
