Gold Coast woman accused of stealing from Supercheap Auto

Police have filed charges against a lady who allegedly stole from a Supercheap Auto shop and concealed the goods beneath a blanket in her stroller.

Former Gold Coast auto-parts store employee Darren Woolfe was fired on April 24 after confronting the suspected shoplifter as she exited the store.

Queensland Police said in May that they were searching for the lady who reportedly took two disc-rotors from the Ashmore business before fleeing quickly.
The 43-year-old was charged with two charges of theft and one count of fraud last month.

The lady was observed walking past the cashier and exiting the shop prior to Mr. Woolfe being shown chasing after her on surveillance footage provided by the police.

The mother yelled at Mr. Woolfe, “Let go of my baby!” as an altercation started between them.

The film of the altercation went viral, prompting Supercheap Auto to briefly suspend Mr. Woolfe before he ultimately departed the firm.

The firm was criticized online for removing Mr. Woolfe, but said it has protocols in place to protect employees and prevent them from confronting customers.

Michael Farrar, the proprietor of the competitor business Autobarn in Burleigh Heads, quickly recruited Mr. Woolfe.

Mr. Farrar told Nine News that organizations can evaluate many things using KPIs such as performance, but loyalty cannot be quantified.

Therefore, I concluded that he is a highly loyal individual and the kind of person I want on my team.

The Daily Mail Australia previously reported that the employee was inundated with employment offers before accepting a position with his new company.

Due to the termination, many of individuals have vowed to boycott the Supercheap Auto business.

After seeing the video, it seems absurd that Supercheap terminated his employment given the dedication he displayed to the company.
