Tragedy struck in western Victoria when a little girl lost her life following a car accident. The incident occurred on Grampians Road near Halls Gap at around 9am on Thursday. Emergency services responded to the call and found both the two-year-old girl and the 22-year-old female driver injured.

Reports indicate that their car collided with a tree, causing serious injuries to the pair. The emergency services then airlifted both of them to a hospital for treatment. Sadly, the little girl did not survive her injuries and passed away.

The driver of the vehicle remains in the hospital for further treatment, and police are conducting an investigation into the cause of the accident.

The latest road statistics show a worrying trend, with the death toll on Victoria’s roads increasing by 33% compared to the same period last year. As of March 2023, 64 lives have been lost compared to 48 in the same period in the previous year.
