Georgia police start search for missing 20-month-old child

A frantic search has been begun by police and the FBI for a youngster who has been missing for five days.

The search for 20-month-old Quinton Simon, who vanished from his home in west Savannah, Georgia, on October 5, is police’s “top priority.”

Documents reveal that before to Quinton’s abrupt disappearance, there were persistent family conflicts between Quinton’s mother Leilani and his legal guardian, Quinton’s grandmother.

Due to the possibility that the one-year-old had been taken, the FBI and local police have been looking for the youngster.

I hope he’s still alive,’ said Chatham County Police Chief Jeff Hadley at a news conference on Thursday.

“We don’t have any reason to think he’s not,” was the statement.

The child’s grandma Billie Jo Howell reportedly attempted to evict mother Leilani and her boyfriend Daniel Youngkin from their house in the past, according to court documents acquired by WJCL.

Since “they have harmed my stuff and at this time no one is living in peace,” she said that she needed the couple to leave the residence “as soon as possible.”

The date the record was filed and if this had anything to do with Quinton’s disappearance are both unknown.

She hasn’t always done the right thing, the child’s grandmother, who has custody of him, said of her 22-year-old daughter.

She performs very well at times and poorly at others. Right now, I’m not sure what to think. Since I don’t think anybody ever thinks this would happen to them, I’m not sure what to believe.

I’m not sure whether I can or cannot trust her. I only know that this hurts and that I want to bring the baby home. He is my infant.

I want him home, the grandmother who was crying said. He is only a baby. Do not give up searching, please.

The grandpa of Quinton said, “We simply want to know something. We are worried about his health. He’s a content child. He had a broad grin on his face at all times.

We continue to hope and pray.

On Sunday morning, Chatham County Police released the following statement: “Today, we will re-canvass certain particular locations in our hunt for Quinton Simon.”

Although we don’t need volunteers, we still want to keep you updated on our search for the little child.

As they have done from the beginning, “The FBI continues to provide aid and support.”

The youngster is still being sought very desperately. His house, a pong, some drainage lines, and a neighboring wood have previously been examined by police.

On Wednesday around six in the morning, Quinton’s mother’s boyfriend reported seeing him.

However, just after 9.30am, the child’s mother reported him missing when she awoke.

According to Hadley, the boy’s unnamed biological father “was nowhere around him at the time of his abduction.”

Hadley said that Quinton’s mother and her boyfriend are cooperating with the police and that “at this moment, they are victims.”
