Gang raided sweets and drink business before South Norwood attack

A convenience store was previously assaulted by a bunch of thugs who beat a lady as she lay bleeding on the street and broke windows and doors, a business owner reported tonight.

At 10 p.m. on Saturday, August 27, cameras captured the crowd as it approached the 19-year-old lady outside a newsagent in South Norwood, London.

The lady was kicked and assaulted by around a dozen individuals after the group knocked her to the ground. She attempted to shield her head throughout this time.

Video shows the lady being assaulted from all angles while seeming to be alone and defenceless.

She was eventually transported to a hospital where non-life-threatening injuries were treated, according to the Met Police.

It is still unknown what started the altercation.

However, a Yogi Newsagents employee on Tennison Road, a short distance from the altercation, described what they observed just before the assault.

‘Around 10 or 15 of them came inside and were stealing sweets, stealing drinks, and attempting to go into the rear,’ the store employee, who wished to remain anonymous, told MyLondon. Outside, there were thousands.

“We attempted to drive them out and close the shutters, but they began smashing everything and breaking the windows and doors. Now that they are damaged, there has been a lot of damage, and we have no idea when it will be repaired.”

They fled after waiting for the cops for perhaps 15 or 20 minutes.

On Portland Road last Saturday, the lady was besieged by the throng. Just after 10 o’clock at night, police arrived on the scene.

As the victim was being assaulted, spectators can be seen swarming around the group and encouraging them.

When police officers came, the throng scattered and the lady could be seen being lifted shakily to her feet.

In a statement sent to Mail Online, the police said: “Officers responded and it was stated that a 19-year-old lady had been attacked by another woman.”

“She was rushed to the hospital, where it was determined that her injuries were not life threatening.”

The Metropolitan Police said that it is currently investigating the event and that no arrests have been made in relation to it.

The video captures another event that occurred immediately after the throng dispersed outside the newsstand, although the reason for it is not immediately apparent.

Crowds of people were moved away from the site and down the street as more police officers arrived on the scene.

Officials said about the occurrences that investigations are still underway to determine the circumstances. “There have been no arrests made. Call 101 and reference CAD 7131/28Aug if you have any information. Call the independent charity Crimestoppers at 0800 555 111 if you want to remain anonymous.

The assault on the 19-year-old is just one of several heinous incidents that London authorities are presently looking into.

Earlier this week, when the victim was waiting outside a posh Mayfair restaurant, a robber was captured on camera stealing a watch off his wrist in plain daylight.

The unidentified patron had his watch snatched away by the burglar in front of onlookers when he was entering a restaurant in Berkeley Square, London, on Tuesday night.

In the video, a guy is stalked and approached just as he is about to enter the venue by a person wearing a hat and a black jacket.

He and the surprised restaurant patron battle for a moment, and then he dashes away from the scene with the watch now in his control.

In an attempt to steal a Kuwaiti playboy’s £110,000 Rolex, a burglar last week was seen on camera destroying a £3 million Bugatti Chiron with a hammer.

A courageous old lady with a stick was observed in Chelsea, west London, on the same day confronting masked knifemen who had just stolen a £60,000 Rolex from a woman on the street.

Police authorities have acknowledged that there has been an upsurge in on-street robberies as a result of the current crime wave.

Sadiq Khan, the mayor of London, has come under fire from some social media users for not doing more to stop street robberies and knife violence.

Takayo Nembhard, a 21-year-old rapper and former football player, was tragically stabbed on Ladbroke Grove under the Westway flyover on Monday at 8 p.m. as crowds of people gathered in west London for the Notting Hill Carnival.

He was given first treatment by police officers until paramedics arrived, and then he was transported to an ambulance “through significant crowds in tough conditions.” He passed away shortly after in the hospital.

According to the Met, there were “several hundred persons in the near vicinity” who were “probable witnesses” to the deadly stabbing.”

Shortly after the event, police in the vicinity used exceptional powers granted to them by a Section 60 order. These powers permitted them to stop and search anybody without a reason to suspect them until one in the morning for “hazardous devices and offensive weapons.”

The detectives went on to say that this year’s event had seen “a lot of violent incidents and significant stabbings.”

After violent events occurred over the weekend, Ken Marsh, head of the Metropolitan Police Federation, which represents 30,000 officers in the force, urged on Tuesday that the carnival be relocated to a private location.

The request came when video of a bandit slamming a lady mercilessly to the ground during a scuffle on the tumultuous last day of the carnival surfaced.

A topless battle between two women was seen on camera at the event on Sunday, while another video showed crowds yelling and having to clamber over a barrier as hundreds of people were forced to cram onto one lane with little room.

Over the course of the two days, 441 individuals were stopped and searched, and police also received complaints of seven stabbings.

On the festival’s last day, a fight broke out, and a Notting Hill Carnival supporter knocked a lady to the ground. According to police, the carnival “always tends to degrade.”

As of 12:01 a.m. today, Scotland Yard said that police had made 209 arrests since the carnival began, including 46 for assault, eight for sexual assault, 36 for drug possession, five for criminal damage, and 27 for public order.

According to the police, there were also 35 arrests for “other” crimes, along with 10 for possession of psychoactive substances, 33 for possession of an offensive weapon, seven for driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, one theft, and one robbery.

The number of arrests during the 2019 festival was much higher at 353, compared to 374 in 2018, 313 in 2017, and 454 in 2016. The overall number of arrests for the whole carnival this year has not yet been verified.

A total of 13 steel bands, 72 mast bands, six Brazilian bands, 36 sound systems, and 300 booths participated in the festival’s last day, the “Adults Day” parade, which officially finished at 8.30 p.m. yesterday.
