Former President Goodluck Jonathan Holds Meeting with President Bola Tinubu to Discuss Continental and Sub-Regional Issues

Former president, Goodluck Jonathan, recently shared the details of his meeting with President Bola Tinubu.

This meeting took place at the presidential villa in Abuja, following their encounter on Tuesday.

After the conclusion of their discussion, the president proceeded to meet with various government officials, one of whom was the newly inaugurated Senate President, Godswill Akpabio.

In addition, the Governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodimma, visited the presidential villa to hold talks with Tinubu.

Accompanying Governor Uzodimma were the Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, and the former Governor of Kano State, Abdullahi Ganduje.

Meeting with the Group Chief Executive Officer of NNPC

Furthermore, the president also had a meeting with Mele Kyari, the Group Chief Executive Officer (GCEO) of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited.

These discussions took place in the context of recent elections held for the presiding offices of the 10th National Assembly.

Jonathan’s Discussion with Tinubu

In a conversation with journalists, Jonathan revealed the purpose of his visit to the president.

He explained that as the mediator for Mali in the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) and the Chair of the West African Elders Forum, there were important continental and sub-regional issues that he wished to discuss with Tinubu.

These matters centered around the continent and the sub-region as a whole.
