As reported by Vanguard, Senate President Godswill Akpabio called for the executive session following the consideration of petitions, which was the fifth item on the Order Paper.
Senator Opeyemi Bamidele (APC, Ekiti Central) made the announcement prior to the closed-door session.
At precisely 11:59 a.m., the Senate entered into the private meeting.
Sources suggest that the gathering revolves around the ministerial nominees put forward by President Bola Tinubu.
It is understood that the list has caused tensions among the Senators, hence the necessity for this meeting.
According to Vanguard’s source, the Senate President already possesses the ministerial list, which may either be disclosed following the closed-door session or postponed until the next week, considering that there will be no plenary session tomorrow.
