Former Kaizer Chiefs and Sekhukhune United midfielder Willard Katsande is not retired anymore?

Willard Katsande, a former midfielder for Sekhukhune United and Kaizer Chiefs, has unexpectedly come out of retirement.

A former star of the Kaizer Chiefs will continue to play for Sekhukhune.

Former Amakhosi midfielder Katsande retired at the age of 36, as was previously reported in local media over the offseason. The Babina Noko team has now determined that they will still require some “Salt n Pepper” in midfield for the next season.

“The club felt they still needed him on the field despite having initially proposed that he stops playing another role within the club,” a source told Kick Off.

“His return is no issue because he still has a running contract so he will continue playing this season.

“What prompted the club to recall him revolves around matters to do with who will fill the position that he was playing which is not celebrated but important in every team,” the source added.

After a decade at Naturena as Tinashe Nengomashe’s successor in the midfield, Katsande attained legendary status at Chiefs. Image: @OupaBaloyi7 / Twitter
