Resumption date for academic activity at Federal University, Lafia (FULAFIA), in accordance with the Federal Government’s mandate.

It has been indicated that the Federal University of Lafia (FULafia) is poised to resume academic activities on its campuses. This information was provided in a circular that the institution’s management released on September 26, 2022, a Monday.

The directive, which instructed vice-chancellors to reopen universities and for students to start classes, was issued by the Federal Ministry of Education through the National Universities Commission (NUC), according to the circular.

The directive was signed by Sam Onazi, the NUC’s Director of Finance and Accounts, on behalf of the commission’s Executive Secretary.

The vice chancellor, pro chancellor, and chairs of the federal university governing bodies were instructed in the letter to “Ensure that ASUU members resume/resume lectures as soon as possible; and that the everyday activities and routines of the various university campuses are resumed.”

The Management of the Federal University of Lafia then released an action plan in accordance with the directive to mobilize financial and material resources, carry out sanitation and fumigation within the campuses, repair damaged facilities, and hold Senate and Congregation meetings in order to prepare the campuses for the eventual return of students on October 10, 2022.
